Inflation-Proof Furniture
Increased tariffs and rising inflation are making everyday purchases harder for the U.S. consumer, even from notoriously inexpensive retailers like IKEA. So they’re aiming to ease that burden with a new & sustainable “inflation-proof” collection: a line of classic IKEA pieces completely reimagined from 100% recycled materials & discarded furniture.
Zero-Waste Buy Back Program
The Inflation-Proof collection invites customers to bring in used, unloved and outworn IKEA pieces to any participating store (regardless of condition) in exchange for credit toward future purchases.
Donated pieces will go towards the continued production of the collection, creating re-imagined classics from the very materials that helped bring them back.
Nothing wasted, everything reborn.
Inflated Filter
On socials, IKEA will release an AR filter to inflate everyday objects. Users can submit their funniest, most stylish or over-the-top creations for a chance to be made into a real-life IKEA original.
All Blown Up
To promote the collection in a BIG way, IKEA will place Inflation-Proof pieces of extreme proportions all over New York City.
Inflation Station
And to celebrate the opening of its upcoming SoHo store location, IKEA will install a limited Inflation Station pop-up. This ‘soft goods’ market will feature everyday items made exclusively from this collection’s recycled material.
